BSU presents....Black Culture Week!!!

Starting May 22nd through May 27th, UCSB’s BSU presents Black Culture Week, an introduction to a variety of Black cultural expressions. This diverse series of events are geared toward interaction and discussion on differing topics such as intersectionalities, representation, art, cinema and music and will provide a special opportunity for students to get informed and be engaged. Our six day event are as follows:

Monday- “Movie Matters”
MCC 8-9:30p.m.
A discussion about Black cinema and the importance of Black representation within the field and on the screen.

Wednesday- “#BlackLikeMe
MCC 8-10p.m.
A panel of students discussing the distinctions and shared qualities of being ethnically and culturally African  

Thursday- (93)106 & Park
KCSB Courtyard 6-9p.m.
A performance of different forms of Black music to acknowledge all cultures within the Black diaspora.

Friday- Living Artful
Loma Pelona 6-8p.m.
A BSU art exhibition, spoken word and poetry showcase.

Saturday- Pool Party
Carrillo Pool
12:30-3:00 p.m.
 A turn up and appreciation for Black Culture Week attendees.
