Every year the Department of Black Studies ushers in a new Academic Year by hosting an annual Kick-Off Event, welcoming back Faculty & Continuing and Prospective Students, while also introducing new Faculty hires & Graduate/Undergraduate opportunities within the Department.

This year, the Black Studies Department is proud to introduce 1 new Visiting Faculty hire and 2 ABD Scholars. The Department also is going to be offering a new Colloquium series for their Undergraduate students, bringing in a number of speakers and allowing a number of students opportunities to present research in a Graduate-level Academic setting. This series is based on this past year's successes surrounding our graduate Black Studies Emphasis (BSE) Colloquium series that took place over the course of the 2013-14 Academic Year.

This event will discuss the entirety of these new additions to the Department, as well as answer any questions you may have.

We hope to see you there!
